Job Summary


Mashreq Bank, one of the leading financial institutions in the UAE, is seeking a highly skilled and results-driven Credit Manager – Wholesale Banking to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the bank’s credit portfolio in the wholesale banking segment, assessing credit risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic recommendations to support business growth. This role is pivotal in maintaining the bank’s financial stability while driving profitable lending opportunities.




Key Responsibilities



  • Evaluate, structure, and recommend credit facilities for corporate and institutional clients in the wholesale banking sector.

  • Conduct thorough credit risk assessments, including financial statement analysis, market conditions, and industry trends.

  • Monitor the bank’s credit portfolio to identify potential risks and take proactive mitigation measures.

  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers and business units to develop customized credit solutions.

  • Ensure all credit proposals comply with internal policies, UAE Central Bank regulations, and industry best practices.

  • Prepare and present detailed credit reports and recommendations to senior management and credit committees.

  • Drive process improvements in credit assessment and portfolio management to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

  • Mentor and guide junior credit analysts to develop skills and maintain high-quality credit evaluations.




Required Skills and Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or professional certification (CFA, CPA, FRM) is preferred.

  • Deep understanding of credit analysis, financial modeling, and corporate banking practices.

  • Strong knowledge of UAE banking regulations and international banking standards.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.

  • Proficiency in banking software and MS Office applications.




Experience



  • Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in credit management, corporate lending, or risk management within reputable banks or financial institutions.

  • Proven experience in handling large corporate accounts and structuring complex credit facilities.

  • Track record of maintaining a low non-performing loan (NPL) ratio while driving portfolio growth.




Working Hours



  • Standard UAE banking hours: Sunday to Thursday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Flexibility may be required during critical business periods or credit committee deadlines.




Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Expertise in credit risk assessment, financial analysis, and lending strategies.

  • Strong understanding of macroeconomic and sector-specific trends impacting credit risk.

  • Ability to make independent decisions under pressure while adhering to compliance standards.

  • Leadership capabilities to manage teams, mentor juniors, and liaise with senior management.

  • High attention to detail, integrity, and ethical approach to credit management.
