Job Summary
CARE International is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Monitoring & Evaluation Intern to support our global humanitarian and development initiatives. The intern will assist the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team in tracking project progress, analyzing program data, and providing actionable insights to enhance project outcomes. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in international development, program evaluation, and impact assessment within a leading global NGO.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, development, and implementation of M&E frameworks for ongoing projects.
- Collect, clean, and analyze quantitative and qualitative project data.
- Prepare regular reports, dashboards, and visualizations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the evaluation of project outcomes, including impact assessments and lessons learned documentation.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate data collection and timely reporting.
- Assist in the development of surveys, questionnaires, and other M&E tools.
- Conduct literature reviews and contribute to research reports for program improvement.
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, and M&E capacity-building initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Social Sciences, International Development, Statistics, Economics, Public Policy, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of statistical software (SPSS, STATA, R) is desirable but not mandatory.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural team environment.
Experience
- Previous internship or volunteer experience in project management, monitoring & evaluation, or research is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Exposure to humanitarian or development programs is preferred.
Working Hours
- Flexible, part-time hours with an estimated commitment of 15–20 hours per week.
- Duration of internship: 3–6 months, with potential extension based on performance and organizational needs.
