Job Summary
The Red Cross is seeking a highly motivated and organized Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator to join our team. This role is pivotal in supporting our mission by attracting, engaging, and retaining dedicated volunteers who help deliver life-saving programs and services. The ideal candidate will be a proactive communicator with a passion for community service, capable of building strong relationships and coordinating recruitment efforts across diverse populations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement volunteer recruitment strategies to meet organizational needs.
- Coordinate volunteer onboarding, including application processing, interviews, and orientation sessions.
- Maintain accurate volunteer records and manage databases to track participation and engagement.
- Collaborate with program managers to identify volunteer requirements and match candidates effectively.
- Plan and attend volunteer recruitment events, career fairs, and community outreach activities.
- Design promotional materials and digital campaigns to attract prospective volunteers.
- Support volunteer retention by organizing recognition programs, feedback surveys, and engagement initiatives.
- Monitor recruitment metrics and prepare regular reports on volunteer demographics, recruitment trends, and program outcomes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Nonprofit Management, Social Work, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and volunteer management software (e.g., VolunteerHub, Better Impact).
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in volunteer coordination, recruitment, or nonprofit program management.
- Experience in community engagement, outreach programs, or human resources is highly desirable.
Working Hours
- Standard full-time hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
- Flexibility for evening or weekend events as required.
- Remote work options may be available depending on organizational needs.
