Job Summary


Aetna is seeking a dedicated Virtual Health Insurance Coordinator to join our remote team. This role is crucial in ensuring our members receive exceptional support with their health insurance plans. The ideal candidate will act as a primary point of contact for members, assisting with inquiries, claims, benefits clarification, and coordinating between different departments. This position combines administrative efficiency with customer service excellence to enhance member satisfaction and retention.




Key Responsibilities



  • Serve as the primary contact for Aetna members regarding health insurance queries via phone, email, or chat.

  • Assist members in understanding their benefits, plan options, and claims processes.

  • Coordinate with healthcare providers, claims processors, and internal teams to resolve member issues efficiently.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of member interactions and follow-up actions.

  • Identify opportunities to improve member experience and communicate feedback to management.

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as company policies.

  • Participate in virtual training sessions and team meetings to stay updated on policies and procedures.




Required Skills and Qualifications



  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Strong understanding of health insurance concepts, claims, and medical billing terminology.

  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) and active listening abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

  • Comfortable using digital communication tools, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.




Experience



  • 1–3 years of experience in health insurance, healthcare administration, customer service, or a related field.

  • Previous experience working in a remote or virtual environment is a plus.

  • Familiarity with claims processing and healthcare provider coordination is highly advantageous.




Working Hours



  • Full-time remote position with standard business hours (Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM EST).

  • Flexibility for occasional extended hours during peak periods or special projects.

  • Proficient in virtual communication platforms and electronic health record systems.

  • Ability to interpret complex insurance policies and convey information clearly to members.

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
