Job Summary
ScribeAmerica is seeking meticulous and detail-oriented Medical Transcriptionists to join our dynamic remote team. As a Medical Transcriptionist, you will play a critical role in converting audio recordings of healthcare professionals into accurate, comprehensive, and well-structured medical documents. This home-based position offers the flexibility to work remotely while contributing to the delivery of high-quality healthcare documentation that supports patient care and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe medical reports, clinical notes, operative reports, and other healthcare-related documents from audio recordings.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with medical, legal, and ethical standards.
- Edit and format transcribed documents to meet organizational and client requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient and clinical information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Review and verify unclear or complex audio files to ensure precise transcription.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and internal teams to clarify documentation details as needed.
- Meet daily productivity and quality targets while managing deadlines independently.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, punctuation, and medical terminology.
- Strong typing speed (minimum 60 WPM) with high accuracy.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and transcription software is preferred.
- Ability to interpret medical jargon, abbreviations, and complex clinical information.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a remote environment.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Medical Transcriptionist or in a related healthcare documentation role is highly desirable.
- Experience in hospital, clinical, or physician office settings is an advantage.
- Training or certification in medical transcription is a plus, though not always required.
Working Hours
- Full-time and part-time positions available.
