Job Summary:
Walmart is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our operations team. As an Inventory Control Specialist at Walmart, you will work closely with procurement, logistics, and store teams to maintain accurate inventory levels, minimize discrepancies, and ensure seamless product availability for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage inventory levels across Walmart stores, warehouses, and distribution centers.
- Conduct regular audits and cycle counts to ensure accuracy of inventory records.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical stock and system records.
- Collaborate with purchasing and operations teams to optimize stock replenishment and reduce excess or obsolete inventory.
- Prepare reports on inventory trends, variances, and forecasted needs.
- Implement inventory control procedures and best practices to improve efficiency and reduce losses.
- Support system updates and data integrity for inventory management software.
- Assist in training store and warehouse staff on proper inventory procedures and policies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Experience:
- 2–4 years of experience in inventory control, supply chain management, or warehouse operations.
- Experience with retail or large-scale distribution environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with inventory control systems, ERP software, and audit processes.
Working Hours:
- Full-time role, typically 40 hours per week.
- Flexibility required for occasional overtime, weekend, or holiday work depending on business needs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Solid understanding of inventory management principles and procedures.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and take corrective action.
- Knowledge of retail operations, logistics, and procurement processes.
