Job Summary


Ernst & Young (EY) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Tax Associate to join our tax advisory and compliance team. This entry-level position is ideal for recent graduates or individuals looking to build a rewarding career in taxation and professional services. As a Junior Tax Associate, you will work under the guidance of senior tax professionals to assist clients in managing their tax obligations, ensuring compliance with local and international tax laws, and identifying tax-saving opportunities. You will gain hands-on experience with tax planning, audits, and advisory engagements while developing your analytical and problem-solving skills.




Key Responsibilities



  • Assist in the preparation and filing of corporate, individual, and partnership tax returns.

  • Conduct research on current tax legislation and assist in the interpretation of complex tax regulations.

  • Support senior associates and managers in client tax planning and compliance activities.

  • Collect and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy in tax reporting.

  • Participate in audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities under supervision.

  • Maintain organized documentation and ensure deadlines are met.

  • Assist in preparing tax memorandums, working papers, and client presentations.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver seamless client service.

  • Contribute to process improvements and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the tax department.




Required Skills and Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and basic understanding of taxation laws.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.

  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and take initiative.




Experience



  • 0–2 years of experience in tax preparation, auditing, or financial accounting (internship experience preferred).

  • Fresh graduates with strong academic credentials are encouraged to apply.




Working Hours



  • Full-time position (Monday to Friday).

  • Standard business hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM.

  • Additional hours may be required during peak tax seasons.




Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Sound understanding of financial statements and business transactions.

  • Familiarity with tax software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is an advantage.

  • Ability to interpret and apply tax legislation to real-world business situations.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Ethical judgment and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial data.
