Vimeo, a leading global platform for high-quality video creation and sharing, is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Junior Video Editor to join our remote team. In this role, you will support the production and post-production of compelling video content that aligns with Vimeo’s brand and storytelling standards. The ideal candidate is passionate about video editing, comfortable with digital tools, and eager to contribute to dynamic projects across multiple channels.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in editing video content for marketing campaigns, social media, tutorials, and internal communications.
Organize and manage raw footage, graphics, and audio files to ensure efficient workflow.
Apply visual effects, motion graphics, and transitions to enhance storytelling.
Collaborate with senior editors, content creators, and the creative team to meet project objectives.
Ensure all video content meets Vimeo’s brand guidelines, quality standards, and technical specifications.
Assist in creating subtitles, captions, and other accessibility features as needed.
Maintain project timelines and assist with multiple video projects simultaneously.
Stay updated with industry trends, editing software updates, and video production best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
Basic understanding of After Effects or other motion graphics software is a plus.
Knowledge of video formats, codecs, and exporting for multiple platforms.
Strong sense of storytelling, pacing, and visual composition.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow creative direction.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with a team.
Experience
1–2 years of professional experience in video editing, film production, or digital content creation.
Experience working on social media content, marketing videos, or short-form content is highly desirable.
Portfolio or demo reel demonstrating video editing skills is required.
Working Hours
This is a fully remote, full-time position.
Standard working hours are flexible, but alignment with the U.S. Eastern Time Zone (ET) is preferred for team collaboration.
Occasional participation in virtual meetings and project reviews may be required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong creative vision with the ability to interpret briefs and bring ideas to life.
Familiarity with color grading, audio mixing, and sound design basics.
Problem-solving mindset and ability to troubleshoot technical issues efficiently.
