Omega Healthcare is seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Remote Medical Coder with ICD-10 certification to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately coding medical records, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and maintaining precise documentation for reimbursement and reporting purposes. Key Responsibilities



  • Review and analyze clinical documentation to determine the appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.

  • Ensure accurate and timely coding for inpatient and outpatient records, including complex cases.

  • Maintain compliance with federal regulations, payer policies, and internal quality standards.

  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and billing staff to clarify documentation and resolve discrepancies.

  • Conduct regular audits of coded records to ensure accuracy and minimize denials.

  • Stay updated with coding guidelines, industry changes, and best practices.

  • Document coding decisions and provide detailed reports as required.




Required Skills and Qualifications



  • ICD-10 certification is mandatory; additional certifications (CPC, CCS, or RHIA) are a plus.

  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and healthcare documentation.

  • Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and coding software.

  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain high accuracy under deadlines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective communication skills to liaise with physicians, coders, and administrative staff.




Experience



  • Minimum of 1–2 years of professional experience in medical coding, preferably in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare billing environment.

  • Experience with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines is essential.




Working Hours



  • This is a full-time remote position.
