Job Summary
Omega Healthcare is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Remote Medical Coding Analyst to join our dynamic team. This role focuses on accurately coding medical records, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, payer requirements, and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems and possess the analytical skills to review complex clinical documentation. This remote position offers flexibility while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately review and code medical records using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Ensure all coding meets compliance standards, payer requirements, and internal quality guidelines.
- Analyze clinical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and specificity.
- Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, and other team members to resolve coding discrepancies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Generate reports and provide feedback to management on coding trends, errors, and improvement areas.
- Participate in coding audits and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and medical terminology.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with clinical staff.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent certification preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of professional medical coding experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare provider setting.
- Previous experience with remote work or telecommuting is an advantage.
Working Hours
- Full-time remote position with standard working hours: Monday to Friday.
- Flexibility may be required to accommodate deadlines or urgent coding needs.
