KLLM Transport, a leader in temperature-controlled freight logistics, is seeking dedicated CDL OTR Refrigerated Drivers to join our elite team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting perishable goods across long distances, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining optimal temperature control. Key Responsibilities:
Operate Class A commercial motor vehicles with refrigerated trailers on long-haul routes across the U.S.
Maintain proper temperature settings for perishable cargo and ensure product integrity.
Inspect vehicles before and after trips, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
Comply with all federal, state, and company safety regulations and DOT guidelines.
Keep accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and delivery details using electronic logging devices (ELDs).
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and warehouse personnel to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues.
Handle loading and unloading procedures when necessary while adhering to safety standards.
Perform minor roadside repairs as needed to ensure the timely completion of routes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
Minimum of 1 year of verifiable over-the-road (OTR) experience, preferably with refrigerated freight.
Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations and hours-of-service requirements.
Ability to operate and monitor refrigeration equipment.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Physical ability to handle cargo and operate necessary equipment safely.
Dependable, punctual, and safety-oriented mindset.
Experience:
Prior experience in long-haul, refrigerated, or temperature-sensitive freight operations is highly preferred.
Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and basic vehicle maintenance is an advantage.
Working Hours:
Full-time position with OTR schedules.
Long-haul routes may require multi-day or weekly trips, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Flexibility in scheduling and willingness to be on the road for extended periods is essential.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
In-depth understanding of vehicle safety checks, load securing, and cargo handling procedures.
Ability to read maps, plan efficient routes, and manage delivery schedules independently.
Strong mechanical aptitude for minor troubleshooting of refrigeration units and tractor-trailer components.
Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain professional relationships with dispatchers, customers, and peers.
