As a CDL Regional Driver, you will be responsible for transporting freight safely and efficiently across regional routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining a high standard of professionalism. Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) across regional routes, ensuring timely delivery of freight.


• Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to maintain safety and compliance.


• Adhere to all federal, state, and company regulations, including hours-of-service (HOS) rules.


• Maintain accurate logs and documentation, including delivery receipts, mileage, and fuel records.


• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members regarding schedules, delays, or concerns.


• Load and unload freight as needed, ensuring cargo is secured and handled with care.


• Report mechanical issues, safety concerns, or incidents immediately to management.


• Uphold a professional and courteous demeanor when representing Knight Transportation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Valid Class A CDL license with a clean driving record.


• Experience operating heavy-duty trucks and trailers.


• Knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations (FMCSA compliance).


• Strong time-management and organizational skills.


• Ability to work independently and maintain focus during long hauls.


• Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills are a plus.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience, preferably in regional or OTR (Over-the-Road) freight operations.


• Prior experience with a reputable transportation company is highly preferred.

Working Hours:

• Full-time, regional schedule.


• Typically 5–7 days on the road per week with return home depending on route.


• Flexible schedules may be available based on operational needs.

• Strong knowledge of truck safety, cargo securement, and route navigation.


• Ability to read maps, use GPS, and plan routes effectively.


• Physical ability to handle loading/unloading when required.


• High level of accountability and professionalism.


• Problem-solving skills and ability to handle unexpected situations on the road.
