Job Summary:


Love’s Travel Stops is seeking a skilled and safety-focused CDL Hazmat Fuel Tanker Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of fuel and hazardous materials to various destinations. You will ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including Department of Transportation (DOT) and Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) guidelines. Key Responsibilities:



  • Safely operate and drive fuel tankers and other assigned commercial vehicles to deliver fuel and other hazardous materials to service locations.

  • Load and unload fuel products according to company policies and safety regulations.

  • Conduct thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.

  • Maintain accurate delivery records, fuel logs, and other required documentation.

  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues.

  • Adhere strictly to Hazmat safety standards and DOT regulations.

  • Respond promptly to emergencies and incidents, following established protocols.

  • Maintain a professional appearance and uphold Love’s Travel Stops’ commitment to customer service excellence.




Required Skills and Qualifications:



  • Valid CDL Class A or B license with Hazmat endorsement.

  • Proven experience in operating fuel tanker trucks safely and efficiently.

  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and hazardous material handling.

  • Ability to read, interpret, and maintain delivery logs, manifests, and related documents.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Physical capability to perform vehicle inspections, secure hoses, and handle loading/unloading duties safely.




Experience:



  • Minimum of 2 years of experience driving commercial vehicles, preferably with hazardous materials.

  • Prior experience with fuel delivery operations is highly desirable.




Working Hours:



  • Full-time, typically 40-60 hours per week.

  • Shifts may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overnight travel depending on route assignments.

  • Overtime opportunities available.
