Job Summary

Boyd Bros. Transportation is seeking dedicated and skilled CDL-A Flatbed Over-the-Road (OTR) Drivers to join our team. As a leading flatbed carrier operating throughout the eastern two-thirds of the United States, we specialize in hauling steel products and building materials for high-volume, time-sensitive shippers. Key Responsibilities

Safe and Efficient Driving: Operate a flatbed truck in compliance with all federal and state regulations, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of freight.
Load Securement: Properly secure loads using appropriate equipment and methods to prevent damage during transit.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs, inspection reports, and other required documentation.
Communication: Stay in regular contact with dispatch to receive updates and report any issues or delays.
Maintenance Checks: Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
Customer Service: Represent Boyd Bros. Transportation professionally when interacting with customers and clients.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Valid CDL-A License: Must possess a current and valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A).
Experience: Minimum of 5 months of flatbed experience or 11 months of verifiable OTR tractor-trailer experience.
Age Requirement: Must be at least 22 years of age.
Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, securing loads, and climbing in and out of the truck.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Attention to Detail: Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate records.

Experience

Flatbed Experience: Preferred, but not required. Boyd Bros. offers load securement training for drivers without flatbed experience.
Over-the-Road (OTR) Experience: Preferred for those transitioning to flatbed operations.

Working Hours

Schedule: Full-time position with over-the-road assignments.
Home Time: Home weekly for a 34-hour reset or bi-weekly for 2 days, depending on location.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating flatbed trucks and related equipment.
Problem-Solving: Ability to address and resolve issues that may arise during transit.
Time Management: Efficiently manage time to meet delivery schedules.
Customer Focus: Commitment to providing excellent service to clients and customers.

Competitive Pay: Top drivers earn up to $100,000 per year, with annual pay ranging from $65,000 to $100,000.
