Job Summary


Ryder System, a leader in transportation and logistics solutions, is seeking professional CDL Class A Dedicated Fleet Drivers to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will operate company-assigned vehicles on dedicated routes, ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods. Key Responsibilities



  • Safely operate Ryder-assigned trucks and equipment following all federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Complete daily deliveries and pickups on a dedicated route while adhering to schedule and route instructions.

  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, including electronic logging device (ELD) data and vehicle inspection reports.

  • Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections, promptly reporting any issues or maintenance needs.

  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members to resolve delivery issues.

  • Provide exceptional customer service by ensuring deliveries are accurate, on-time, and handled professionally.

  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.




Required Skills and Qualifications



  • Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.

  • Ability to operate and maneuver large commercial vehicles safely.

  • Strong time management and route planning skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.

  • Basic mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle inspections and minor troubleshooting.




Experience



  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience as a Class A driver, preferably in dedicated fleet or regional delivery operations.

  • Previous experience with Ryder or similar transportation/logistics companies is a plus.




Working Hours



  • Full-time schedule with flexible shift options depending on route assignment.

  • May include early morning, evening, or weekend deliveries depending on operational needs.




Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Comprehensive understanding of DOT regulations, safety protocols, and transportation compliance standards.

  • Ability to operate GPS, ELDs, and other route planning software efficiently.

  • Strong problem-solving skills to handle unexpected delays or route changes.

  • Physical stamina to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road.
