Job Summary


Sunoco Logistics is seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious CDL Tanker Truck Driver to join our oilfield transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting petroleum and other hazardous liquids safely and efficiently across oilfield locations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong driving skills, attention to safety protocols, and reliability in delivering time-sensitive shipments. Key Responsibilities



  • Safely operate tanker trucks to transport oilfield products, including petroleum, crude oil, and other hazardous liquids.

  • Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle and tanker are in safe operating condition.

  • Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding transportation of hazardous materials (HAZMAT).

  • Load and unload products safely, following proper handling procedures and spill prevention protocols.

  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, paperwork, and electronic records.

  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and clients regarding schedules, delays, or incidents.

  • Respond promptly and appropriately to emergency situations, such as spills or mechanical issues.

  • Uphold Sunoco Logistics’ safety standards and operational policies at all times.




Required Skills and Qualifications



  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A with tanker endorsement; HAZMAT endorsement preferred.

  • Proven experience operating tanker trucks in oilfield, chemical, or petroleum logistics.

  • Strong understanding of DOT regulations, weight limits, and safety compliance requirements.

  • Ability to operate GPS and electronic logging devices (ELDs) efficiently.

  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication skills to interact with team members and clients professionally.




Experience



  • Minimum 2 years of CDL tanker driving experience, preferably in oilfield or hazardous materials transport.

  • Experience with long-haul and regional driving assignments is highly desirable.

  • Proven track record of safe driving and adherence to transportation regulations.




Working Hours



  • Full-time position with a flexible schedule including early mornings, late evenings, and occasional weekends.

  • Hours may vary depending on route assignments and operational needs.

  • Overtime opportunities available based on delivery demands.

  • Deep understanding of tanker operations, oilfield logistics, and hazardous material handling.

  • Ability to inspect vehicles and equipment for maintenance and safety purposes.

  • Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, securing loads, and monitoring tank pressure.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with dispatchers, co-workers, and clients safely and professionally.
