Job Summary
Pepsi Beverages is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious CDL Local Delivery Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering products to retail locations, restaurants, and other business partners within a designated local route. This role ensures that our products reach customers on time, in excellent condition, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial vehicle (CDL Class A or B) to deliver Pepsi products to assigned local routes.
- Load and unload products efficiently, ensuring accurate quantities and proper handling.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety regulations.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and company safety guidelines while driving and delivering.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and customer signatures.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing questions or concerns professionally.
- Report vehicle issues or delivery discrepancies promptly to management.
- Assist with warehouse duties when required, including organizing inventory and stocking.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A or B license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in local or regional delivery operations preferred.
- Ability to operate delivery vehicles safely in urban and suburban environments.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy products (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly throughout the day.
- Knowledge of GPS systems and route planning tools is a plus.
Experience
- Minimum of 1–2 years of professional driving experience, preferably in beverage or FMCG distribution.
- Experience handling perishable or sensitive goods is highly desirable.
Working Hours
- Typically Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend shifts depending on business needs.
- Full-time position with potential overtime during peak seasons.
- Flexible scheduling may be required to meet delivery deadlines.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and vehicle safety regulations.
- Ability to read maps, schedules, and delivery instructions accurately.
- Capable of maintaining a high level of efficiency under time-sensitive conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills for handling delivery issues or customer inquiries.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently without constant supervision.
