CDL Class A Dedicated Fleet Driver

Job Summary

Ryder System, Inc., a leading transportation and logistics company, is seeking dedicated and safety-conscious CDL Class A drivers to join our fleet. As a Ryder Dedicated Fleet Driver, you will be entrusted with transporting goods to our valued customers, ensuring timely deliveries, and upholding the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a Class A commercial vehicle to transport goods to designated locations.
• Ensure timely and accurate deliveries, adhering to all delivery schedules.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and other required documentation.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and management regarding any issues or delays.
• Assist in loading and unloading of goods as necessary.
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Minimum of 9 months of verifiable experience within the past 3 years, OR 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years.
• Clean driving record with no major violations.
• Ability to pass a Ryder drug test, background check, and motor vehicle check.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.

Experience

• Minimum of 9 months of verifiable experience within the past 3 years, OR 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years.

Working Hours

• Full-time position with flexible hours.
• Schedules may include nights, weekends, and holidays based on route requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• In-depth knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Proficiency in using GPS and other navigation tools.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
