Martin Marietta, a leading supplier of building materials in the United States, is seeking a CDL Class B Dump Truck Driver to join our team. This role is critical to ensuring safe, efficient, and timely transportation of construction materials to various job sites. As a CDL Class B Dump Truck Driver, you will operate dump trucks to transport materials such as stone, sand, and gravel, while adhering to company and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class B dump truck to transport materials to construction sites or customer locations.
- Load and unload materials efficiently, ensuring proper placement and weight distribution.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, reporting any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, reports, and documentation in compliance with company policies.
- Follow all DOT regulations, safety procedures, and company operational guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatchers, and site personnel regarding delivery schedules and issues.
- Assist with minor equipment maintenance and ensure cleanliness of the vehicle.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class B driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience operating dump trucks or similar heavy vehicles.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Ability to read maps, GPS, and delivery instructions accurately.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Physical capability to handle heavy materials and withstand outdoor working conditions.
Experience
- Minimum of 1–3 years of professional experience as a Class B driver, preferably in construction, aggregate, or building materials transport.
- Prior experience in material handling or heavy equipment operation is a plus.
Working Hours
- Full-time position, typically 40+ hours per week.
- Overtime may be required based on project deadlines.
- Work schedule may include early mornings or evenings depending on delivery requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of dump truck operations, including loading, dumping, and safety procedures.
- Strong mechanical aptitude for identifying potential vehicle issues.
