Job Summary

UPS Freight is seeking highly motivated and safety-conscious CDL Dedicated Lane Truck Drivers to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating tractor-trailers along assigned dedicated routes, ensuring timely and secure delivery of freight. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate and maneuver tractor-trailers along assigned dedicated routes.
  • Ensure on-time pickup and delivery of freight according to schedule.
  • Inspect vehicles before and after trips, reporting any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
  • Secure cargo properly, adhering to all DOT regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, fuel usage, and delivery records.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members regarding delivery updates or issues.
  • Uphold UPS Freight’s high standards of professionalism and customer service at all times.
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations, including DOT and OSHA safety requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Valid CDL Class A driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, vehicle inspection procedures, and safe cargo handling.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with dispatch, clients, and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain high levels of responsibility and accountability.
  • Basic computer skills for logging trips and accessing delivery documentation.

Experience

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of professional CDL Class A driving experience, preferably in dedicated routes or freight transport.
  • Experience in long-haul, regional, or dedicated lane trucking is highly preferred.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position with predictable schedules on dedicated routes.
  • Occasional overtime may be required depending on business needs.
  • Routes generally allow for home time daily or weekly, depending on assignment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safe driving practices.
  • Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections and minor troubleshooting.
  • Physical stamina to handle loading/unloading assistance if required.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
