Pilot Flying J is seeking experienced and safety-focused CDL Class A Tanker Drivers to join our growing transportation team. Key Responsibilities
Safely operate and maintain a CDL Class A vehicle with a tanker endorsement for the transport of fuel and hazardous materials.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
Load, transport, and unload fuel while following all company, state, and federal safety guidelines.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, routes, and hours of service in accordance with DOT regulations.
Communicate effectively with dispatch, terminal staff, and customers to ensure timely deliveries and resolve any service issues.
Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and standards to protect yourself, coworkers, and the environment.
Perform emergency response procedures when required to handle spills or accidents.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Valid CDL Class A License with Tanker and HazMat Endorsements (N & H or X).
Clean driving record with no major moving violations in the last 3 years.
Strong understanding of DOT regulations, safety procedures, and fuel handling protocols.
Ability to operate electronic logging devices (ELDs) and maintain accurate driver logs.
Excellent communication and time management skills.
Commitment to safety, professionalism, and customer service excellence.
Experience
Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience preferred (fuel transport experience highly desirable).
Experience operating tankers and hauling hazardous materials is a strong advantage.
Working Hours
Flexible shifts including day, night, weekend, and holiday routes based on delivery schedules.
Home daily or regional routes available depending on location and assignment.
Overtime opportunities available for extra miles or shifts.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of fuel distribution systems, tanker loading/unloading processes, and spill prevention techniques.
Strong situational awareness and decision-making ability in dynamic driving conditions.
Physically fit to handle hoses, climb ladders, and perform manual tasks safely.
Ability to work independently and manage route responsibilities with minimal supervision.
