As a CDL OTR Driver, you will be the face of our company on the road, ensuring timely and secure transportation of goods while maintaining exceptional customer service and compliance with all federal, state, and company regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate a commercial vehicle over long-haul routes, often covering multiple states and regions.
Transport freight in a timely and professional manner, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery documentation.
Adhere to all DOT, FMCSA, and Schneider safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and internal teams to coordinate schedules and updates.
Provide exceptional customer service by representing Schneider professionally at all delivery and pick-up points.
Report accidents, incidents, or safety hazards in a timely manner.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Valid CDL Class A license with clean driving record.
Proven experience in long-haul or over-the-road (OTR) driving.
Strong knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations.
Ability to read maps, GPS systems, and routing software efficiently.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Physical capability to handle loading/unloading tasks if required.
Experience
Minimum of 1–2 years of OTR driving experience preferred.
Experience with various freight types, including dry van, refrigerated, or flatbed, is a plus.
Working Hours
Long-haul routes with schedules typically ranging from 40–70 hours per week.
Flexibility required for nights, weekends, and occasional extended trips.
