Job Summary


QA Metal Services is seeking a meticulous and experienced Weld Quality Control Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will ensure all welding processes meet company and industry standards for quality, safety, and compliance. This role requires close collaboration with production teams, project managers, and engineers to maintain the highest standards of workmanship across all welding operations. Key Responsibilities



  • Conduct inspections of welding work, verifying compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, ISO).

  • Review welding procedures, drawings, and technical documentation to ensure adherence to quality requirements.

  • Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques such as visual inspection, ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle inspection, and radiographic testing.

  • Identify, document, and report welding defects or deviations, recommending corrective actions as needed.

  • Monitor welding processes and provide feedback to production teams to maintain continuous improvement.

  • Maintain accurate inspection records, quality reports, and certifications for audits and client requirements.

  • Ensure all work complies with safety and environmental regulations.

  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to support quality assurance initiatives and project milestones.




Required Skills and Qualifications



  • In-depth knowledge of welding processes, metallurgy, and inspection techniques.

  • Certification as a Welding Inspector (CWI, CSWIP, or equivalent) preferred.

  • Proficiency in interpreting welding codes, drawings, and specifications.

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficient in using inspection tools and NDT equipment.




Experience



  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in welding quality control or inspection in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

  • Prior experience in heavy fabrication, structural steel, or shipbuilding is an advantage.

  • Hands-on experience with NDT methods is highly desirable.




Working Hours



  • Full-time position, standard working hours Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

  • Overtime may be required based on project deadlines.

  • Strong knowledge of welding standards and quality control procedures.

  • Ability to analyze defects and implement corrective measures.

  • Skilled in documentation and compliance reporting.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
