Job Summary

National Fabrication Group is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Welding Supervisor to lead our welding operations team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding processes, safety compliance, and team management within a fabrication or industrial environment. As a Welding Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing daily welding operations, ensuring high-quality production, and mentoring welders to achieve operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage a team of welders, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
  • Oversee welding operations, including MIG, TIG, and arc welding processes, across various projects.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, company policies, and industry regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of welds and fabrication work to guarantee quality and durability.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate welding staff, providing guidance to improve skills and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and quality control teams to meet project requirements.
  • Maintain welding equipment, tools, and consumables, ensuring operational readiness.
  • Implement process improvements to optimize efficiency, reduce errors, and maintain cost-effectiveness.
  • Prepare reports on production progress, team performance, and operational challenges.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Welding Supervisor or Senior Welder in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Arc) and materials handling.
  • In-depth understanding of welding codes, standards, and safety regulations (AWS, ASME, ISO standards preferred).
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in welding inspection tools and quality control methods.

Experience

  • Minimum 5–7 years of hands-on welding experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Experience in a high-volume fabrication or industrial environment is highly preferred.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position, typically 40–48 hours per week.
  • Flexibility for overtime or weekend work depending on project deadlines.

  • Deep understanding of welding metallurgy, techniques, and fabrication processes.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to enforce safety standards and maintain a hazard-free work environment.
  • Analytical mindset to identify issues, troubleshoot welding challenges, and implement effective solutions.
