Job Summary
RoadMaster Welding is seeking a skilled Trailer Repair Welder to join our team of dedicated professionals. The ideal candidate will perform welding, fabrication, and repair work on various types of trailers, ensuring that all projects meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and precision. This role requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual who can work independently and collaboratively to maintain our reputation for excellence in trailer repair services.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks on trailers, including repairing frames, axles, suspension systems, and body structures.
- Assess trailer damage and determine appropriate repair methods and materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to complete repairs accurately.
- Maintain and operate welding equipment safely, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welders.
- Ensure all repairs comply with company safety standards and industry regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to plan and prioritize repair projects.
- Conduct quality inspections on completed repairs to guarantee durability and safety.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace and properly store tools and materials.
- Document all repair work and maintain accurate records for future reference.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience as a welder in trailer repair, fabrication, or a related field.
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding techniques.
- Strong understanding of metal types, welding materials, and fabrication methods.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and repair manuals.
- Knowledge of trailer structures, frames, suspension systems, and safety standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Physical stamina to handle heavy materials and work in varied positions.
Experience
- Minimum 2–5 years of hands-on welding and trailer repair experience.
- Prior experience in a repair shop, fabrication facility, or industrial setting is highly preferred.
Working Hours
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday.
- Occasional overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
- Standard hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexibility may be required).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of vehicle and trailer systems.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of workplace safety protocols and adherence to OSHA standards.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with colleagues and supervisors.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple repair projects efficiently.
