Job Summary
IronClad Services, a trusted leader in industrial fabrication and maintenance, is seeking a skilled Combo Welder with Arc Experience to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality welding work on structural steel, piping systems, and pressure vessels using various welding techniques, including SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), GTAW (TIG), and GMAW (MIG). This role requires precision, safety awareness, and a strong understanding of welding codes and procedures used in industrial and construction environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform combination welding (TIG, MIG, Stick, and Flux Core) on carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols to determine welding requirements.
- Inspect and prepare materials before welding, ensuring proper alignment, fit-up, and cleanliness.
- Conduct welding operations in accordance with company standards, codes, and safety regulations.
- Perform both structural and pipe welding in various positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead).
- Carry out visual inspections and non-destructive testing (NDT) when required.
- Repair or replace worn metal components and structures.
- Maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
- Work closely with supervisors, fitters, and other team members to complete projects efficiently.
- Follow all workplace safety and quality assurance protocols.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Certification or qualification in welding from a recognized institution or trade school.
- Proven ability to weld using multiple processes (Stick/Arc, TIG, MIG).
- Strong knowledge of welding standards such as ASME, AWS, or API.
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with fabrication, layout, and fitting techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail, manual dexterity, and steady hand-eye coordination.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Combo Welder in an industrial, manufacturing, or construction setting.
- Previous experience in pipe welding, fabrication shops, or plant maintenance is highly desirable.
- Experience working with pressure vessels, piping systems, or heavy equipment repairs will be an advantage.
Working Hours
- Full-time position (40–48 hours per week).
- Overtime and weekend work may be required depending on project schedules.
- Flexible shift options available (day or night shift based on site requirements).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- In-depth understanding of metallurgy, welding metallurgy, and filler materials.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights when required.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with welding safety standards, PPE requirements, and hazard identification.
- Physically fit to handle demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and prolonged standing.
