Job Summary
GreenEnergy Power Systems is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Welding Technician to join our dynamic team at our state-of-the-art power plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality welding and fabrication work on various plant equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This role is crucial in maintaining the structural integrity and operational reliability of plant systems, supporting our mission to deliver sustainable and efficient energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication on plant piping, pressure vessels, turbines, and support structures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to determine specifications and procedures.
- Conduct inspections and tests to ensure weld quality and adherence to safety and regulatory codes.
- Maintain and repair welding tools, machinery, and related equipment in proper working condition.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and maintenance teams to execute planned shutdowns and repairs efficiently.
- Document work performed and maintain accurate records of materials used and time spent.
- Follow safety guidelines, wear appropriate protective gear, and participate in safety training programs.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, environmental standards, and industry regulations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Certification in Welding Technology or equivalent technical training.
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, Arc, and Gas welding processes.
- Strong knowledge of metal properties, welding symbols, and fabrication techniques.
- Ability to work from technical drawings, schematics, and isometric diagrams.
- Familiarity with power plant equipment and maintenance procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on precision and safety.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and mechanical aptitude.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Experience
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Welding Technician in a power plant, industrial, or manufacturing environment.
- Experience with high-pressure piping, boiler systems, and turbine components will be an added advantage.
Working Hours
- Full-time position: 8-hour shifts, Monday to Saturday.
- Flexibility to work overtime, night shifts, or during planned shutdowns as required by project timelines.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- In-depth understanding of safety regulations, ASME standards, and welding codes.
- Ability to operate and maintain various welding tools and heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of thermal expansion, metallurgy, and mechanical stress principles.
- Capable of working in confined spaces, elevated platforms, or outdoor environments under varying conditions.
- Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced industrial setting.
