Job Summary
Space Metals Co., a leader in aerospace materials and precision fabrication, is seeking a skilled TIG Welder to join our elite aerospace projects team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding for high-precision, critical aerospace components. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, adherence to strict safety and quality standards, and a passion for excellence in high-stakes manufacturing environments.
As a TIG Welder at Space Metals Co., you will play a vital role in producing aircraft and spacecraft components, ensuring every weld meets aerospace industry specifications and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform TIG welding operations on aerospace-grade metals, including aluminum, titanium, and stainless steel, according to project specifications.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding procedures to execute precise welds.
- Maintain weld quality by adhering to aerospace industry standards and internal quality control protocols.
- Inspect, test, and document welded components to ensure defect-free results.
- Collaborate with engineers, inspectors, and production teams to troubleshoot and optimize welding processes.
- Maintain welding equipment, consumables, and work areas in a safe, organized, and efficient manner.
- Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and hazard prevention measures.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience as a TIG Welder in aerospace, aviation, or high-precision metal fabrication.
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques for metals commonly used in aerospace projects.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and welding symbols.
- Proficiency in using welding tools, fixtures, and inspection equipment.
- Solid understanding of quality assurance standards and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Certification in TIG welding (AWS, ASME, or equivalent) preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in TIG welding within aerospace, aviation, or related high-precision industries.
- Experience with complex assemblies and critical components is highly desirable.
Working Hours
- Full-time, Monday to Friday (flexibility may be required based on project deadlines).
- Overtime may be required during peak project periods.
