Job Summary:
Midwest Metals is seeking a skilled and dedicated Aluminum Welder Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the precise fabrication and welding of aluminum components, ensuring high-quality production standards, safety compliance, and timely project completion. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform TIG, MIG, and other aluminum welding processes to fabricate high-quality components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications accurately.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and fit aluminum parts according to project requirements.
- Maintain welding equipment and tools in safe, operational condition.
- Inspect finished products for accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure efficient workflow.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
- Document production activities, including time logs and materials used.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in aluminum welding and fabrication.
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques: TIG, MIG, and spot welding.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
- Proficiency in using welding machinery, hand tools, and measurement instruments.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in fabrication tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Familiarity with workplace safety standards and best practices.
Experience:
- Minimum 2–5 years of hands-on experience in aluminum welding and fabrication.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is preferred.
- Certification in welding (AWS or equivalent) is a plus.
Working Hours:
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday.
- Typical shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible hours may be required based on production needs).
- Overtime may be offered depending on project deadlines.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong manual dexterity and physical stamina for welding and handling aluminum materials.
- Ability to troubleshoot welding issues and identify defects in fabricated components.
- Knowledge of metallurgical properties of aluminum and related alloys.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
