Job Summary


Rapid Build Corp., a leader in high-quality construction and metal fabrication projects, is seeking motivated Welder Helpers and Apprentices to join our dynamic team. This role is designed for individuals looking to begin or grow a career in welding and fabrication. As a Welder Helper or Apprentice, you will support our skilled welders, learn on-the-job techniques, and gain hands-on experience with various welding processes, tools, and materials. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to develop practical skills and advance within the construction and fabrication industry.




Key Responsibilities



  • Assist welders in preparing and setting up materials for welding projects.

  • Transport, organize, and maintain metal stock, tools, and equipment.

  • Clean, grind, and polish metal surfaces before and after welding.

  • Learn and follow welding procedures under the guidance of senior welders.

  • Ensure a safe and organized work environment, following all safety protocols.

  • Perform basic cutting, measuring, and fitting tasks.

  • Support the welding team in project setup, assembly, and finishing tasks.

  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.




Required Skills and Qualifications



  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Basic knowledge of tools and metalworking processes is a plus.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.

  • Ability to read basic blueprints and measurements is preferred.

  • Physical stamina to lift heavy materials and stand for long periods.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

  • Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills.




Experience



  • No prior welding experience required for apprenticeship positions.

  • Previous experience as a laborer, helper, or in construction/fabrication is a plus.

  • Willingness to participate in on-the-job training and skill development.




Working Hours



  • Full-time, typically Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime based on project requirements.

  • Hours may vary depending on project deadlines and site schedules.




Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Basic understanding of safety procedures in a fabrication or construction environment.

  • Ability to follow instructions and learn quickly from experienced welders.

  • Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

  • Time management and ability to work under supervision.

  • Problem-solving skills and initiative to take on responsibilities.
