Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding operations on structural steel components according to project specifications, blueprints, and welding codes.
- Interpret technical drawings and plans to determine the correct welding processes and sequence.
- Operate and maintain welding equipment, tools, and machinery safely and efficiently.
- Conduct inspections on welds to ensure they meet quality, strength, and safety standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, fabricators, and project managers to solve structural issues and optimize workflow.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
- Adhere to all company safety guidelines and OSHA regulations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience in structural steel welding, preferably in MIG, TIG, or Stick welding techniques.
- Strong knowledge of welding safety standards, metallurgy, and welding symbols.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and fabrication plans.
- Proficiency in operating welding machinery and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to handle heavy materials and work in various positions.
Experience
- Minimum of 3–5 years of professional welding experience in structural or industrial settings.
- Experience in large-scale steel fabrication projects is highly desirable.
Working Hours
- Full-time schedule, typically Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime as project demands require.
- Flexibility for shift work may be necessary depending on project timelines.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- In-depth understanding of welding procedures, codes, and safety protocols.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude.
