Job Summary
SteelWorks Inc., a leader in precision steel fabrication and structural solutions, is seeking a skilled MIG Welder Fabricator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding steel components to the highest quality standards. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, ensuring that every project meets client specifications and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding specifications to determine the best approach for fabrication.
- Operate MIG welding equipment to join and fabricate steel components accurately and efficiently.
- Measure, cut, and assemble metal parts using hand tools, power tools, and machines.
- Inspect welds and finished products for quality and compliance with company and industry standards.
- Maintain welding equipment and ensure proper storage and handling of materials.
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and team members to ensure timely project completion.
- Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to workplace safety standards.
- Document work progress and report issues or defects to supervisors promptly.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience as a MIG welder or fabricator in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of welding techniques, metallurgy, and fabrication processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
- Proficiency in using welding machines, grinders, cutting tools, and measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, welding codes, and quality standards.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical stamina for handling heavy materials.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Experience
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in MIG welding and metal fabrication.
- Experience in structural steel, industrial components, or custom metal fabrication is highly preferred.
Working Hours
- Standard working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
- Occasional overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of MIG welding techniques and safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills.
- Good physical fitness to handle heavy metal pieces and prolonged standing.
