Job Summary
Cigna Health Solutions is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Remote Clinical Data Coordinator to join our healthcare analytics team. This role focuses on the accurate collection, management, and analysis of clinical data to support healthcare initiatives, improve patient outcomes, and drive operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities
Collect, review, and verify clinical data from multiple sources including electronic health records (EHRs), medical charts, and other healthcare databases.
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of clinical data in accordance with HIPAA and organizational standards.
Coordinate with clinical teams, data analysts, and healthcare providers to resolve discrepancies and obtain missing information.
Maintain and update databases, generating regular reports for internal stakeholders.
Assist in the preparation of data for clinical research studies, quality improvement initiatives, and regulatory reporting.
Identify trends, anomalies, and insights from clinical data to support decision-making processes.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance data management workflows.
Provide support for audits and data validation exercises as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Nursing, Life Sciences, or related field.
Strong understanding of clinical documentation and healthcare terminology.
Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems and clinical databases.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex clinical data.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; knowledge of data management tools preferred.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for coordinating with clinical and administrative teams.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting while meeting deadlines.
Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in clinical data coordination, health information management, or medical records analysis.
Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment is a plus.
Working Hours
Full-time remote role with standard business hours flexibility.
Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required to meet project deadlines or support data audits.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
In-depth knowledge of healthcare data standards, HIPAA regulations, and clinical coding systems (ICD-10, CPT).
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address data discrepancies efficiently.
Comfortable working with large datasets and performing data quality checks.
