Job Summary
ScriptLine Media is seeking meticulous and detail-oriented Remote Subtitlers to join our growing team of content localization experts. In this role, you will be responsible for creating accurate, high-quality subtitles for films, documentaries, TV shows, and online video content. This position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to a global audience’s entertainment experience. Ideal candidates are passionate about language, storytelling, and audiovisual media.
Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe dialogue from films, TV shows, or video content accurately and in a timely manner.
- Synchronize subtitles with on-screen speech and ensure proper timing for readability.
- Translate dialogue where necessary while maintaining cultural nuance and context.
- Edit and proofread subtitles to maintain high linguistic and technical standards.
- Collaborate with project managers and quality assurance teams to meet deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and company guidelines for subtitling.
- Maintain confidentiality of all media content and intellectual property.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent command of English (oral and written).
- Strong listening skills and attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of subtitling software (e.g., Aegisub, Subtitle Workshop, EZTitles).
- Familiarity with film and media terminology is a plus.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills for team collaboration and feedback.
Experience
- Prior experience in subtitling, transcription, or translation is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience working with digital media, streaming platforms, or film production is an added advantage.
Working Hours
- Fully remote, flexible schedule.
- Workload may vary depending on project volume, typically 20–40 hours per week.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines is required.
