Job Summary
NetSecure is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT Analyst Intern with a focus on Networking & Security to join our dynamic team. This internship provides hands-on experience in managing, monitoring, and securing enterprise IT networks, while gaining exposure to advanced networking protocols, cybersecurity frameworks, and IT infrastructure management. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to build a strong foundation in IT security and network administration within a professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the monitoring and maintenance of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and servers.
- Support the IT security team in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating network vulnerabilities and security threats.
- Participate in network audits, risk assessments, and compliance checks.
- Help configure, troubleshoot, and optimize network devices and security solutions.
- Document network and security procedures, incidents, and resolutions.
- Collaborate with senior IT analysts to implement and maintain security policies and protocols.
- Provide technical support for internal teams regarding network and security issues.
- Stay updated on emerging networking technologies and cybersecurity best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- Fundamental understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and routing protocols.
- Basic knowledge of network security principles, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and threat mitigation.
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux) and network management tools.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Experience
- Prior internship or project experience in networking, IT support, or cybersecurity is a plus but not mandatory.
- Hands-on experience with network simulation tools (e.g., Packet Tracer, GNS3) or security labs is advantageous.
Working Hours
- Full-time or part-time internship options available.
- Flexible working hours with a minimum of 20–40 hours per week, depending on academic schedules.
- Remote and on-site hybrid opportunities may be available.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong technical aptitude and eagerness to learn emerging IT and security technologies.
- Ability to analyze network traffic and identify security risks.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and documentation skills.
- Familiarity with IT compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST) is a plus.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic IT environment.
