Job Summary

DataStream is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Database Management Intern to join our dynamic IT team. This internship provides hands-on experience in managing, optimizing, and maintaining SQL and Oracle databases, while supporting real-world business applications. The ideal candidate is passionate about data, eager to learn, and interested in gaining practical exposure to database administration and management within a professional environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining SQL and Oracle databases.
  • Perform routine database monitoring, backups, and performance tuning.
  • Support data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
  • Assist with troubleshooting database issues and resolving errors efficiently.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure seamless data management.
  • Document database configurations, processes, and standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in database migration and upgrade projects under supervision.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of SQL and Oracle database concepts.
  • Understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS).
  • Familiarity with database queries, joins, indexing, and optimization techniques.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze data effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Experience

  • No prior professional experience required; candidates with academic projects or certifications in SQL/Oracle will be preferred.
  • Exposure to database management through internships, coursework, or self-learning is a plus.

Working Hours

  • Full-time internship: 5 days a week, flexible working hours.
  • Remote or hybrid options may be considered depending on project requirements.

  • Knowledge of SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new database tools and technologies.
  • Analytical thinking to troubleshoot database-related issues.
