Job Summary
TechAssist is seeking a motivated IT Support Intern to join our dynamic IT department. This internship offers hands-on experience in helpdesk operations, troubleshooting, and network administration. You will work closely with senior IT professionals to resolve technical issues, maintain network infrastructure, and provide end-user support, gaining practical exposure to real-world IT environments. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates eager to develop technical expertise and build a career in IT support and network management.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems via phone, email, or in-person support.
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment and software.
- Monitor and maintain network performance, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Document technical issues and solutions for knowledge base updates.
- Assist in IT projects, including system upgrades and migrations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth IT operations.
- Support end-users with account management, permissions, and security compliance.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
- Understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Familiarity with helpdesk ticketing systems and remote support tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
Experience
- Prior experience is not mandatory, but any hands-on experience through academic projects, internships, or personal IT projects will be an advantage.
Working Hours
- Flexible working hours with a standard 20–30 hours per week.
