Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on potential security threats and incidents.
  • Support the execution of security audits, penetration tests, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Collaborate with senior security analysts to review system configurations and recommend improvements.
  • Participate in risk assessment exercises and contribute to remediation strategies.
  • Document findings, prepare detailed reports, and communicate results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and best practices.
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of security policies, procedures, and awareness programs.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Basic understanding of network security, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and threat modeling.
  • Familiarity with common operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and networking protocols.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive and curious approach to learning.

Experience

  • Previous internships, projects, or coursework related to cybersecurity, ethical hacking, or IT security is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with security tools (e.g., Wireshark, Nmap, Metasploit) is desirable but not mandatory.

Working Hours

  • Full-time or part-time options available, flexible to accommodate academic schedules.
  • Typical hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with potential remote work options.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of basic cybersecurity concepts and frameworks.
  • Ability to analyze security logs and identify suspicious activity.
  • Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies and compliance standards (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR) is advantageous.
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to evolving security technologies.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills within a technical environment.
