Job Summary

Key Responsibilities



  • Assist the film development team in reviewing and analyzing scripts, treatments, and story ideas for potential production.

  • Conduct research on industry trends, audience preferences, and competitive analyses to support development strategies.

  • Collaborate with producers, writers, and creative executives on project brainstorming and conceptual development.

  • Support the creation of pitch materials, presentations, and development reports for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Maintain accurate records of project materials, notes, and development updates.

  • Attend team meetings, table reads, and creative discussions to observe and contribute insights.

  • Perform administrative tasks and project coordination as needed to facilitate smooth operations of the development department.




Required Skills and Qualifications



  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Film Studies, Media, Communications, Creative Writing, or a related field.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate scripts and story concepts critically.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • High level of creativity and passion for storytelling and the entertainment industry.

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Experience



  • Prior experience through academic projects, student film work, or previous internships in film development, production, or media is highly desirable but not mandatory.

  • Demonstrated interest in film analysis, creative development, and the entertainment industry through coursework, extracurricular activities, or personal projects.




Working Hours



  • Full-time or part-time internships are available, depending on program requirements and university scheduling.

  • Typical hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with flexibility for remote or hybrid participation where applicable.

  • Duration: 10–12 weeks (summer or semester-based) with potential for extension based on performance and project needs.




Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Deep understanding of narrative structures, character development, and cinematic storytelling.

  • Familiarity with film industry standards, production pipelines, and intellectual property considerations.

  • Ability to adapt quickly to new tasks, creative challenges, and collaborative work environments.
