Key Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures efficiently and with care.
• Accurately label, handle, and transport blood and other specimens to the laboratory.
• Maintain and update patient records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
• Adhere to hospital protocols and safety guidelines, including infection control practices.
• Provide excellent patient care by ensuring a comfortable and reassuring experience.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to specimen collection or equipment.
• Collaborate with the medical team to address patient needs and improve processes.
• Maintain inventory of phlebotomy supplies and request restocks as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification is mandatory.
• Proven experience as a phlebotomist, preferably in a hospital setting.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients of all ages.
• Ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and empathy.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and specimen handling protocols.
• Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMRs) and phlebotomy equipment.

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in phlebotomy.
• Experience in high-volume hospital or clinical environments is an advantage.

Working Hours
